Mid Day Assistant - SEN

6 hours per week

APTC 2, points 11-13

£18,357 - £18,396 pro rata (£2,529 - £2,534 per annum, actual salary)


At Branfil Primary School our golden rule is that 'we respect ourselves, each other and our environment'. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and reliable Mid Day Assistant to join our team. You will be supporting a Foundation Stsage pupil with Special Educational Needs including social communication difficulties.

You will judiciously use praise to encourage the pupil to use functional language skills throughout the lunch period.

You may also be required to help the child with toileting working in accordance with the school's Intimate Care Policy.

Experience with 'Elkan' and previous experience of working with children with special educational needs would be preferred.

You will be a positive role model for pupils to emulate, caring, enthusiastic and able to show initiative. The successful applicant will be committed, flexible and reliable.

Please note: The London Borough of Havering has undertaken a review of employee terms and conditions, which is planned to come into effect later this year.

This means that this vacancy will be graded at Grade 3 at a salary range from £18,357 to £18,396 pro rata.

However aspects of those terms and conditions (including pay) could be subject to change following implementation of proposals arising from this review.
