Home School Support Worker & Safeguarding Officer

Permanent Contract

Start Date: As soon as possible from September 2017

Salary: APTC 5, points 22-24

£22,506 - £24,510 pro rata (£18,086- £19,697per annum, actual salary)

35 hours x 38 weeks per year (4.5 days per week)

 

We are lookng to appoint a Home School Support Worker (including Safeguarding Officer) who will work with children and families who may be experiencing a range of challenges. This person will support and strengthen our already very positive links with parents and provide assistance to families during particularly difficult times. Previous work experience related to health, child protection, social services, mentoring, counselling and/or working within parenting programmes would clearly be beneficial. The successful candidate will also need to be an entusiastic, flexible, confident individual with excellent interpersonal and behaviour management skills.

Access to your own transport is essential, as is Business Driving Insurance.

The Mawney Foundation School is a proactive, supportive, well-resourced primary school, with high expectations of all members of staff and pupils.

You will also join us at a very exciting time. We are currently undergoing a complete rebuild and we are due to move into our new state of the art building in November 2017, when we will also increase to a 3 form entry.

The school has also been graded as 'Good' in our last 2 Ofsted inspections (most recently in May 2016).

Please note: The London Borough of Havering has undertaken a review of employee terms and conditions, which is planned to come into effect later this year.

This means that this vacancy will be graded at APTC 5 at a salary range from £22,506 to £23,802 pro rata.

However aspects of those terms and conditions (including pay) could be subject to change following implementation of proposals arising from this review.
