Corbets Tey School seeks an enthusiastic and ambitious leader who will make a real difference to the lives of young adults who present with challenges to their learning. Routes 4 Life is an exciting new Post 19 initiative which will offer one year pathways to transition young adults into positive and fulfilling adult lives.
We will be offering three different routes which may be undertaken when young people choose to leave other educational options and transition into adult life. There will be three pathways to choose from:
Pathway to positive community inclusion
Pathway to employability
Pathway to supported living
This post will involve developing the most constructive and successful relationships with adult social care and community partners to broaden opportunities for our young people in Havering.
Our school is a popular and over-subscribed, foundation, special school catering for 112 chidren with significant, complex and wide ranging learning needs. We have recently extended our offer to cater for 26 students from 16-19 on our new satellite site in Rainham. The successful candidate will be required to lead our newly developing Post 19 department with a view of this opening in September 2018. This will involve preparing courses and developing partnerships ahead of commencement in September. This will start with a cohort of ten young adults in the first year.
Governors would like to appoint a positive and energetic person who is passionate about improving life chances of young adults with a wide range of abilities. The successful applicant will be an outstanding classroom teacher who can help lead the staff team by example and is capable of delivering an individualised and funtional curriculum which incorporates community and employment based enrichment. They will also need to have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire potential partners to get involved with developing opportunities for young people. We need a dedicated and inspirational leader to join our team with the ability to demonstrate clear vision and plan strategically to share in the leadership and continued development and improvement of our school and offer for young adults.
