Salary: Main Scale 1-9

Contract: Permanent - Full Time

Hours: 32.5 hours per week

The RJ Mitchell Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly committed, hard-working teacher with experience of working with chlidren with Autism to join our inclusive and friendly school.

You will teach and plan for a group of 7 Autistic children and manage a team of Teaching Assistants in our Autistic Resource Centre. An understanding of schedules, visual timetables, PECs, Makaton and working with non-verbal children is essential. Positive handling experience is an advantage. You will report directly to our SENCO and Headteacher.

We are looking for a classroom practitioner who:

  • Can demonstrate excellent classroom teaching and learning with the ability to review each child's needs and adapt resource to support learning outcomes
  • Is committed to providing the best learning opportunities for every child
  • Is able to engage, motivate and challenge pupils
  • Must be well organised
  • Has good interpersonal skills and enjoys being part of a team
  • Will show commitment to the School's core values
