The Campion School

Wingletye Lane, Hornchurch, Essex RM11 3BX

Teacher of Business and Economics( plus additional responsibilities for an exceptional candidate)

The Campion School is committed to providing the best possible learning and working environment for both pupils and staff.

As we look to bolster our already talented teaching staff, we currently have a vacancy for a Teacher of Business and Economics. Both Business and Economics are becoming increasingly popular with our students and we are looking to recruit a new member of staff to help the Department move forward and develop the courses further. A TLR will be available for an exceptional candidate.

Our Business and Economics Department has delivered outstanding results in recent years. A number of our students go on to Business or Economics courses at some of the best universities in the country and we are firmly committed to ensuring that this continues.

At A Level, 94% of students acheived a grade A*-C in Economics and at GCSE, 72% achieved a grade A*C in Business Studies.

We open the door to university for our students, not only through GCSE and A Level courses but also our BTEC National Diploma in Business and Marketing. This incredibly popular course has also produced great results in recent years. The increasing popularity of our couses has led to the growth of our Department. We now need another talented individual who will help us maintain our incredibly high standards of teaching and play a key role in developing our courses.

You'll be joining a friendly and supportive team that has cultivated a genuinely cohesive working environment - sharing ideas, best practice and resources. This makes this role ideal for an NQT or teacher in the first few years of their career. Equally, it would also be a great opportunity for someone with more experience under their best to progress further amongst some incredibly talented colleagues. The Department is a very cohesive team with a real passion for teaching and developing new courses. A real team atmosphere permeates all across this department and the whole school. Help with accommodation may be available as the school is currently developing on-site provision for teachers new to the profession.

About us

Whilst we are a Catholic school, we are very proud to have a diverse team that supports the ethos of the school. This contributes hugely to creating what we feel to be an incredibly welcoming place of work.

Outside the classroom, there is plenty of opportunity to get involved further. We have a keen focus on sport, music and charity work and all staff are welcome to get involved should they wish.
