Vacancy Description

The Campion School

Wingletye Lane, Hornchurch, Essex RM11 3BX

Teacher of English - September 2018

The Campion School is committed to providing the best possible learning and working environment for both pupils and staff. As we look to bolster our already incredibly talented teaching staff, we currently have a vacancy for a Teacher of English.

Our English Department is ambitious and experienced with our teachers generally teaching across all key stages. We will look to you to play an active role in the team, helping to develop the curriculum and resources. We consider it to be of utmost priority that our pupils enjoy studying English Literature and Language and are inspired to continue studying up to A Level and beyond. You’ll be supported to develop your skills and knowledge to teach A level as well as being part of our work with feeder primary schools to share good practice across the key stages.

At GCSE, 93% of students achieved a grade 5 and above in 2017, 18% above national averages.

You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive team that has cultivated a genuinely cohesive working environment – sharing ideas, best practice and resources. This makes this role ideal for an NQT or teacher in the first few years of their career. Equally, it would also be a great opportunity for someone with more experience under their belt to progress further amongst some incredibly talented colleagues. Help with accommodation may be available as the school is currently developing on-site provision for teachers new to the profession.

About us

When joining The Campion School, you’ll find a friendly environment that is geared to ensure that both staff and pupils are happy and equipped for success. Our staff tell us they enjoy working here and this is evidenced by our low staff turnover rates.

Working here, you’ll find that you’re supported in your career and given ample opportunity to continue learning and thrive. Whilst we are a Catholic school, we are very proud to have a diverse team that supports the ethos of the school. This contributes hugely to creating what we feel to be an incredibly welcoming place of work.

Outside the classroom, there is plenty of opportunity to get involved further. We have a keen focus on sport, music and charity work and all staff are welcome to get involved should they wish.

Please apply online. Should you experience any technical difficulty please contact Education HR on 01708 431636

Closing date: 19th March 2018
