Bower Park Academy is looking to appoint a Safeguarding Officer

September 2018 start

Grade: APTC 5 - Point 22-25   Full time salary: £22,506- £24,510 (Actual pro rata salary: £15,339 - £16,704)

Hours: 28 hours per week, 39 weeks per year


Bower Park Academy is an 11-16 co-educational school with 800 pupils on roll. Bower Park is part of the Empower Academy Trust providing staff with fantastic CPD opportunities and shared practices across the Trust. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding safeguarding officer who has experience of safeguarding responsibilities. You will be working in close association with an Assistant Principal, and be confident in liaising with external agencies. You will require good communication skills and be able to work on your own initiative.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a committed practitioner who is able to work as part of a team
  • Have experience of working with children in a school environment for 11-16 years of age
  • Good communication skills
  • Is flexible, hardworking, patient and caring.

Hours of Work

  • 28 hours per week
  • Daily hours to be agreed at interview
  • Flexibility required to enable attendance at meetings that may occur outside of normal school hours.
