Technology Technician - Required as soon as possible

Hours: 36 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

Grade: APTC 3 points 14 - 17

Actual pro-rata salary: £17,420 - £17,825  (Outer London)

 

The Brittons Academy Design and Technology department is seeking a skilled and resourceful Technician to work alongside two part time food technicians and facilitate the smooth running of our large department. 

The successful candidate will have excellent inter-personal skills and will provide effective support to teachers and students; both in class and with the preparation of resources.  

They will manage materials and equipment in resistant materials, construction, art and textiles.  

The candidate must be able to carry out workshop maintenance including sharpening workshop tools and servicing machinery. 

Applications are welcomed from those who have practical experience in either an educational or industrial background.  

The ideal candidate would be familiar with CAD programmes and CAM equipment. A knowledge of safe working practices is essential. 

The Brittons Academy is a part of The Empower Learning Academy Trust led by Hall Mead School. Hall Mead is outstanding and a teaching school. The Trust will provide fantastic professional development opportunities for all staff.                                                                                                 

The role advertised is based at The Brittons Academy, but as an employee of the Empower Learning Academy Trust you may be expected to work across the three schools in the Trust.
