Senior Midday Supervisor

Grade: Grade 3, Points 16-20

Actual Salary: £6,950 - £7,474 per annum

Hours: 15 hours per week x 38 weeks per year

 

We are looking to appoint a hardworking and reliable Senior Midday Supervisor to manage our team of midday assistants and support and supervise children at lunchtime in the dining hall and in the playgrounds; to encourage good manners, appropriate behaviour and social interaction skills. The work will involve:

  • Managing the team of Midday Supervisors and ensuring adequate daily cover for pupil lunchtime periods
  • Supporting the Midday team with resolving issues and ensuring excellent safeguarding practice at all times
  • The transition of pupils from class to the dining hall and the school playground and back to class at the end of lunchtime
  • The supervision and support of pupils whilst they eat
  • The promotion and supervision of positive and active play and pupil relationships
  • Health, safety, security and basic first aid (after relevant training)
  • Pupil discipline and behaviour management.

We are looking for people who have a good rapport with children and have the ability to think on their feet, able to manage a large team using clear, firm and fair communication.

Previous experience of working with children is essential and previous line management experience will be an advantage.

Applicants should be able to talk about how they demonstrate the following qualities: enthusiasm, an ability to stay calm and patient, ability to manage conflict, understanding of behaviour management. As a member of our team you would use these qualities to make lunchtime a positive and worthwhile experience for all of our pupils.
